The Drive to Kelowna

Saturday 11th October 2014
After 5 fantastic days in Vancouver it was time to start our 1700km road trip. First stop… Kelowna.

We picked up our hire car and hit the road. We ran into some nasty weather early on, but once it had passed it was smooth sailing!

“Expect Sudden Weather Changes” – they weren’t joking.

We were so happy we hired a car, wouldn’t have wanted to experience these dramatic landscapes any other way.

I don’t know where to begin…

The decline down the mountain into Kelowna. *ears popping*

Ringo. We were greeted by this friendly little boy when we arrived at our home away from home.

ZipZone – Canada’s highest freestyle zipline. 2.1km of zip lines that criss-cross over the Deep Creek Gorge, and that is 2.1km that we’ll never forget!

Andy harnessed and ready to go.

Sarah gliding 120m over the gorge and about to hit speeds of up to 80km an hour!

Andy dangling upside down. What an adrenaline rush!

Mr and Mrs Jolliffe.

After 2.5hrs of zip lining, we were craving some yummy food. Salted Brick had us covered.

All the food is made fresh right in front of you and even their meat was cured on-sight. What a hidden gem this place was!
