The Big Apple

Thursday 23rd October 2014 – Sunday 26th October 2014
On Thursday we made the 5 hour flight from Calgary to New York. We then had a few days of relaxing, shopping and lots of eating before we got stuck into our itinerary.

Speaking of food, Bareburger was one of our favourite places to eat. We promised ourselves we would try and eat somewhere different for each meal but Bareburger was just too good, and being only a 5 min walk from our apartment meant lots of trips for burgers and chips!

Monday 27th October 2014
First up for the day was the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. This place was full of history and it was amazing to see some of the aircrafts, boats and spaceships that were once in service.

He couldn’t help himself!

We found this little guy in the ‘Masters of Disguise’ exhibition.

Later that evening we headed over to Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Rangers v Minnesota Wild. And what a game that was! The atmosphere was incredible and the final score was Rangers 5 – Wild 4. If you ever find yourself in New York, we would highly recommend seeing a game of ice hockey. GO RANGERS!

After the game we decided to go exploring around Times Square and wow, this place comes to life at night! Shopping, crowds, lights, music and life-size superheroes and cartoon characters (that will try and hustle you for $) it really is something you have to see to believe.
